Stars Centre at CityStars is a pioneer when it comes to introducing international brands to the Egyptian market, and aiming to maintain this position, Stars Centre recently witnessed the opening of its second phase, which includes 250 new stores, bringing the total number of stores in the shopping centre to over 550 units in all, with a total area of 151,000 m2.
Adding to the rich mix of stores at Stars Centre, H&M, one of the world’s leading retailers in fashion and accessories, is due to open its largest store in the Middle East at Stars Centre – CityStars in April 2008.
The new H&M store at Stars Centre will be an impressive 3501 m2, spread over two floors, and will be a major store in the shopping centre’s second phase and the largest one in the Middle East.
Mr. Adel Al-Ashry, Regional Manager of M.H. Alshaya Company, which represents the H&M brand in the region, said that the new store will be among the 3 largest H&M stores worldwide.
Sherien El-Beltagy, Retail Leasing Manager at CityStars, added that this is a 10 years deal, open for renewal in due time. He also mentioned that, following H&M’s agreement with Stars Centre, the leasing of the shopping centre’s second phase is close to completion. The remaining areas for lease represent only 5% of both phases of Stars Centre.
The fruitful business relationship between the two companies includes the opening of Starbucks, The Body Shop, Claire’s and Mothercare at Stars Centre as well. The opening of H&M at the Stars Centre is a result of an existing relationship built on trust between CityStars and M.H. Alshaya Company.
